Darrius brings his sweet urban soul sound to the triple door for an evening of music, charity and support for a local music organization. Seattle, Wa. – September 18th 2007, / Protectomatic Music and Entertainment// Darrius will take the stage at The Triple Door in Seattle Washington on October 5th, 2007 for a late show performance with his full soul ensemble. Darrius will be showcasing his sweet urban soul sound as well as bringing a charitable element to the evening by donating to the Jackson Street Music Business Academy. Since the evening coincides with World Teachers' Day, which is held annually on October 5th since 1994 and commemorates teachers organizations worldwide, Darrius is going be to be giving one dollar for every seat filled at this show to an organization that he has helped in the past. Darrius is a teacher as well and brings a strong sense of education to his music as he teaches and helps others. That evening The Triple Door in its kindness and generosity will be matching that donation to the Jackson Street Music Business School. Retail Therapy, www.ineedretailtherapy.com will also be matching Darrius’s donation of the seats filled that evening. Darrius writes and performs music that molds and fuses together the genres of jazz, hip hop, soul, electronica and R&B to create a harmonious sound that is hook heavy and easily memorable. A composer, arranger, collaborator, session player and performer; Darrius hears the music around him with a wider spectrum and a greater ear. Mixing his natural abilities with a bachelors in Jazz piano and deriving inspiration from such influences as Stevie Wonder and Prince, Darrius is able to showcase his musical and technical abilities at the highest echelon. The Triple Door is located beneath Wild Ginger and across from Benaroya Hall, in the heart of downtown Seattle. WA. Doors open at 6:00pm. The show starts at 11:00pm.
